Partners & Stakeholders

Working Together to Make a Difference

The wide range of partners we work with reflects the diversity of services we offer - from business support and individual training support, to widespread, intensive regeneration and recruitment programmes. Our strong partnership ethic, coupled with our not-for-profit status, means we deliver services where they are needed most, often in some of the most deprived areas of the country.

In addition to service delivery partners and stakeholders, we also value the relationship we have built in support of redevelopment projects. We have a very strong Tsunami-hit district of Hambantota in Sri Lanka.

Our partners are wide-ranging and involvement can be on a variety of levels. We have partners and stakeholders who work with us to steer the strategic direction of our services. We have partners who provide funding for services we deliver, while we have others who with contract with to deliver services on their behalf. We also work together with partners to support each other's service delivery for the enhanced benefit of service users.

Hambantota partnership - helping to rebuild lives
The alliance between Manchester Solutions and Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce was first established six months after the disaster of Boxing Day 2004, when more than 250,000 people were killed by a tsunami caused by a massive Earthquake in the Indian Ocean.

In the coastal district of Hambantota, more than 3,000 people were killed, 2,500 houses were damaged or destroyed and hundreds of businesses, schools and government buildings were badly hit. An entire fishing industry which deployed around 1,000 boats was also decimated, making it one of the worst hit areas in Sri Lanka.

Manchester Solutions has hosted a number of exchange visits and made significant investment in the area over the last two years. Over the next three years, the partnership will focus on a number of key projects aimed at rebuilding the area's infrastructure, helping businesses grow and getting people into work.
